Call for proposals - PhD Booster Programme 2024
The Faculty of Medicine is launching the call for proposals for the 6th edition of the PhD Booster Programme for which all PSLS students are eligible to apply. The previous editions have provided financial support to 25 PhD students in life sciences and boosted their communication skills and careers.
All candidates will benefit from personalised coaching to improve their presentation and help them present the project in front of the camera (up to 20 on a first-come-first-served basis). At the end of this process, 5 grants of 5'000 CHF each will be awarded.
The PhD Booster is a communication programme created by the Faculty of Medicine. Although basic research remains essential for the development of new medical treatments, it often remains unknown, misunderstood or unattractive to a wider public. The Booster wishes to change this reality by promoting the excellence of biomedical research in Geneva and by demonstrating how this important work paves the way towards new therapies.
We challenge you to present your thesis project to the jury in only 3 minutes. If you are selected, you will be coached to present your project in front of the camera (have a look at the previous edition) and receive a grant of 5’000 CHF to participate in international meetings, to follow training courses or to visit laboratories abroad, for example.
Conditions of participation and eligibility criteria:
- This programme is open to PhD/MD-PhD students of the Faculty of Medicine as well as for PSLS students
- Candidates must have completed at least 18 months of their PhD by 31 March 2024 and finish their PhD no sooner than June 2025, in order to have time to disburse the grant
- Due to the high number of applicants, we limit the number of candidates to 20 and will prioritize the candidates who apply for the first time
Please read carefully ALL the conditions of participation before applying!
